Centralive Participant Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Centralive Inc. (“Centralive,” “we,” “our,” “us”) collects, uses, and discloses certain personal information in relation to the clinical trial you have signed up for and that is obtained through our mobile application (“App”). By using our App, you are agreeing to the terms of this Policy.

Scope

This Policy applies to information we process on behalf of a clinical trial sponsor or researcher in our role as a data processor. The information that we process through the App is ultimately governed by the informed consent you have signed with the clinical trial or research site. If you have any questions about the data processing activities, please reach out directly to the clinical trial sponsor or research site you are associated with.

What Information We Collect and Maintain About You

We collect personal and other information from you directly when you provide it to us through our App. We also automatically collect certain information about your smartphone or other device when you use, access, or interact with our App. We may also collect information from third parties in relation to providing you our App.

Information collected from third-party sources. If you integrate a third-party data source through the App (such as your Oura Ring or your Apple Watch), we will collect information from these sources and integrate it into our App. This may include any categories of information requested by the clinical trial sponsor, including your health information.

Information collected from surveys and questions. Your clinical trial sponsor may collect information from you through surveys and questionnaires on the App.

Automatically collected information. When you use our App, we may automatically receive and record certain information from your device, including information related to the operating system, how you interact with our App, your device ID, device type, and other standard server log data. Your device settings may allow you to control the collection of this technical information.

How We Use and Process Your Information

The purposes for which we use your information include to:
  • Provide you with our App;
  • Fulfill our obligations as a service provider to the clinical trial sponsor or research site we are working with;
  • Respond to your questions or requests concerning the App;
  • Deliver account information, notifications, and similar operational communications;
  • Comply with legal and/or regulatory requirements;
  • Benchmark results for our customers; and
  • Manage our business.

With Whom and Why We Share Your Information

We may share any of the information described in “What Information We Collect and Maintain About You,” above, with other parties for a variety of purposes, as described below.

Clinical trial sponsor. We will share your information with the clinical trial sponsor or research site you are associated with.

Third-party service providers. Centralive uses third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as web-hosting companies. These service providers may collect and/or use your information, including information that identifies you personally, to assist us in achieving the purposes discussed above.

Legal purposes. We may use or share your information with third parties when we believe, in our sole discretion, that doing so is necessary:

  • To comply with applicable law or a court order, subpoena, or other legal process;
  • To investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, violations of our terms and conditions, or situations involving threats to our property or the property or physical safety of any person or third party;
  • To establish, protect, or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims; or
  • To facilitate the financing, securitization, insuring, sale, assignment, bankruptcy, or other disposal of all or part of our business or assets.

Your Privacy Rights

The information that we process through the App is ultimately governed by the informed consent you have signed with the clinical trial or research site. To the extent you have any questions about how your information is used, please reach out to the clinical trial sponsor or researcher directly. Centralive will abide by any directions we receive from the clinic trial sponsor or researcher in relation to your information.

If you delete your account, we will not collect any new information about you in relation to the clinical trial study. Any information previously collected will be shared with the study you are associated with. We will abide by the deletion instructions provided to us by the clinical trial sponsor or research site.

Data Security

We employ physical, technical, and administrative procedures to safeguard the personal information we collect online, including data encryption and server-side decryption, vulnerability and security testing, and security patches. However, no website is 100% secure, and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to the Site or to us, and you transmit such information at your own risk.

Data Retention

We retain data in a manner consistent with our obligations as a service provider for the clinical trial sponsor. We will abide by the sponsor or researcher’s data retention instructions.

International Users

The information that we collect through or in connection with the App is transferred to and processed in the United States for the purposes described above. Centralive may subcontract the processing of your data to, or otherwise share your data with, affiliates or third parties in the United States or countries other than your country of residence. The data protection laws in these countries may be different from, and less stringent than, those in your country of residence. By using the Site or by providing any personal or other information to us, you expressly consent to such transfer and processing.

Children

Content on this Site is directed at individuals of ages 18 and older and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to this Policy

We may make changes to our App in the future and as a consequence will need to revise this Policy to reflect those changes. If we make a material change to the Policy, you will be provided with appropriate notice.
