Wellcome Prize for Mental Health Science with Nature

The Wellcome Prize for Mental Health Science, in partnership with Nature, champions new interventions that can transform the lives of people affected by anxiety, depression, and psychosis.

Scope

This initiative aims to accelerate the development, adoption, and policy prioritization of effective interventions for mental health. It also seeks to generate enthusiasm for mental health science among policymakers, funders, and the public to drive greater investment in research.

Eligibility

The Prize is open to research teams from around the world. Eligible groups include:

  • Universities and research institutes
  • Hospitals and clinical centers
  • Government or not-for-profit organizations
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)

Partnership

Organized by Wellcome and Nature Awards, this initiative provides significant visibility and practical support to help winning interventions progress toward adoption and policy integration.

  • One overall Prize winner will receive US$1 million.
  • Three runners-up will be awarded US$250,000 each.
